C. I wondered why all the hero archetypes seem to pool together. I find it very interesting that all of the traits of a hero seemed to pool together. Some cultures might have slight variations that their heroes would have.
D. “Collective unconscious: You have an individual unconscious state, but humanity also shared an unconscious; as humanity continues to grow, the pool of experiences in the collective unconscious continues to grow as well.” Collective unconscious is a theory based on individual conscious mind but extrapolated to all human civilization. I like this quote because it is an interesting theory that everybody has their own rendition of a hero, but everyone’s hero is has certain personality traits that they all share.
E. I enjoyed reading about the bad guys viewed as good guys. By combining the opposites people created a more compelling story. By combining the opposite the story makes you think more because a somewhat good person is making bad decisions to get by and makes you wonder if it is morally justified.

D. Without archetypes there would be no point in stories. It would be very weak and not be entertaining. Without archetypes the story would have no structure. Like it says in the text there is a point A to point B but without archetypes there would be nothing to follow. There would be no superheroes and villains because there would be no Good vs Evil. That is why archetypes are so important. I. I really agree with you richteri16. I agree with the statements about how the stories don't change the characters do. Yea thats true and I also agree with how you say like the stories in the bible. Couldn't you say the same thing for game rules. As the game evolves they have to change, add, or remove rules to fit the game. I feel like its getting a little away from the topic of literature but it has the same thing in mind. E. At first first look the archetype idea was very confusing to me. Nothing made sense and I thought I was just reading gibberish but then as I finished the packet and read the last part about the heroes journey I finally made the connection of what and archetype really was.

There are 12 stages of hero, and after reading this I better understand why the movies are similar. They all have a good guy and a bad guy. The good guy gets are called to the journey even though they were never planning on saving the world. Movies like Batman and Lord of the Rings follow this format. The journey is different but good always triumphs over the evil or bad.
C. The relationship between personal conscious, personal conscious, and collective unconscious does it effect the ethics of my family dynamics? Does it determine how the a family acts? When I hear the stories of my ancestors I feel a sense of obligation to continue the traditions. Is this how moral guidelines of the society are passed on? I know that my parents have very strong opinions about how I should conduct myself and what goals I should set for myself. They try to show me how important it is by telling me what my grandparents and great grandparent went through.
E. I found this line " we don't need to experience things to learn from them. " very interesting. I think it's interesting because when people tell stories you can learn from their experiences as if you were there and experienced it yourself. This is the way that we have been learning forever. One telling another information that would otherwise take a lifetime to find out. We can also learn from stories that could never be true like Batman or Superman. In superman he has a weakness but many strengths, he uses his many strengths to over come his weakness. Like us everyone has a weakness and some strengths. We must use our strengths to overcome that weakness and succeed.

C- Overall I understood what an archetype was. I understood that an archetype is basically that repeats itself in the future, but there were things I didn’t understand like the Collective Unconscious. It states that “ you have an individual unconscious state, but humanity also shares an unconscious; as humanity continues to grow, the pool of experiences in the collective unconscious continues to grow. “ Is what they’re basically saying is that what wee dream while we’re sleeping or unconscious makes humanity to grow and the pool of experience larger? What I don’t get from that is that if we’re unconscious, we technically aren’t doing anything, meaning we didn’t experience anything, which doesn’t allow humanity to grow! This is the only thing I really didn’t understand from this. B- In this text, what was significant was that they emphasize upon the fact that archetypes are what keep stories or movies from being extremely bland because with the back ground, we tend to understand better and are way more into it, but if we didn’t have any prior knowledge or and experience from before, it sounds completely boring. I- I agree with johnaviles and richteri16 with what he said in part A. We as human beings feel the need to please others and maintain an image, but at the end of the day none of that matters because all that matters is what you feel is right for you. The only way you can do that as if you do what you feel is right for you and not only will this make you a stronger and genuine person, but you are truly your own hero.

Stephen Ali Mr. Thomas Message Board Response September 12, 2013 E. This idea is based on part B of the packet. I think that, because we are all humans we tend to think alike and share common things such as characteristics, ideas and even negative things like problems. Each person has their own mind or set of thoughts, but since we are all born to the same thing we tend to have similarities. You cannot get mad at someone for sharing the same values and ideas as you , because I think it is in our own innocent human tendency to have the same ideas about life as well as other things that concern us. E. This part of the post is based upon the information given to us in part C, D and E of the packet. The ideas that we come up with are derived from many things like myths. Past down from generation to generation by word of mouth (oral tradition). Things like movies create fantasy worlds, dreams and other things in order to keep us aware of conscious. Being Humans we experience many things as humans and experience different events that can change us for every such as winning the lottery or a negative event like losing a loved one. These events form things in our mind that allow us as humans to better understand and get to know the world we live in better than we already do. These events give us experience someone thing essential to the growth of human on the planet earth. C. How does archetypes help promote ideas or reasoning behind something? How do we now these myths are made up?
